Going White

It's Monday again, and it's time to make it marvelous, yo. Run right over here if you're new to the wonderful world of Marvelous Mondays and learn to enjoy this.
This week's theme: an outfit inspired by a piece of art.
I didn't do much today, just a bit of shopping with my mom, though I did come away with a cool new backpack and new wallet (finally). Either way, I chose something fairly simple to emulate this gorgeous painting.
"When She Went White, She Went White"

Sorry about the blurriness.

Now, go pay a visit to the others. I'm stoked to see what they've done, and I'm sure you are, too. Right?
Right.

Keep On Rolling

So I'm heading off to Sedona in May, and I'm really looking forward to it. My mom suggested that I bring my pencils and a sketchbook, and I've been trying to find something clever and small to keep my gear in, since my art box won't exactly fit into a suitcase. Space is limited when you travel by plane.
I saw this tutorial, and thought it was super clever. While mine is far (far) lazier than theirs, it's the same basic idea. And it works fantastically!
The really clever bit, though, is that you could absolutely use this for anything. Pencils, makeup brushes, knitting needles, etc., etc., etc.
Here's what you'll need:

  • A long piece of cloth. You'll want at least an extra foot or so, so keep that in mind. And seriously, any cloth will work.
  • Scissors.
  • Something to mark with (if you're doing this for pencils, and you've got your 8B handy, that's absolutely perfect).
  • Things to put into it.
Gather your stuff and prepare thyselves. It's actually really easy. And no sewing!

Please Ponder

If you've ever even glanced at my Instagram, you'll have seen lots of pictures of my drawings (and Charlie, but she's not important right now).
What I'd like to know is, would you be interested in seeing my drawings? They're certainly not Da Vinci quality, but some of them turned out pretty nicely, in my own only-moderately-humble opinion. Let me know if this is something you might like to see, or if it will drive you bonkers.
And yes, if I do end up posting, I promise to post any horrifying portraits I may attempt. For laughs.
Finally, as a reward, enjoy this picture of a cute dog we met in Carpinteria.

Dieci

Today included naps (in the multiple, blissfully enough), attempting to draw my nephew (who refused to sit still, but I did it, more or less), and a trip to WalMart.
I love my break already.
