I ended up joining in some Easter festivities. You know, getting up early, getting (overly) dressed up for a play thing a family friend was in, and taking a nap shortly after coming back home. But, between the play and nap, I did have an egg-salad sandwich, and what says Easter like egg-salad?
I'll tell you what, nothing.
Except the delicious pastel rainbow cake I made last night.

Spring Forward
Take my title as a gentle reminder that Daylight Savings is either starting or ending—either way, turn your clocks forward an hour, if you haven't already. Either that, or live in the past.
Today has basically involved groceries, Girl Scout cookies, and bees. No one got stung, but things are in bloom, and they're everywhere.
Tonight will be art homework and lots of Red Dwarf. I know, I'm excited too.

I was only mildly worried about all the bees. |

Cherry Blossoms
I went to the mall today, but with a different person from the norm: my mom. It was pretty fun, and I made out like an earring bandit. Even though I can't even switch my earrings for another two weeks. Earring Purgatory, I'm tellin' ya.
I also wore a dress that decided to give me a ton of trouble, even though it doesn't usually. I need to figure out something to keep the bodice of this dress from gaping. Also, I wore shoes that were pinchy but cute, so they were ultimately worth it. I won't be wearing them for big adventures, though.
So, despite my troubles, it was a great day. Even the outside world was all kinds of cheerful. When we got home, we noticed that the cherry tree in the front yard was suddenly blooming, and it was wonderful.
Spring can totally make up for pinchy shoes and troublesome bodices.

Life Laughs with Flowers
Today, I dressed for spring.
Well, in all actuality, I dressed like I did because I wish spring was here.
And if we're being really honest? I was inspired by the following song and its accompanying music video:
All I did was go grocery shopping with my mom. While I think it's ridiculous that everyone has Easter stuff out already (it's February still, guys), I sort of love it. It feels like spring is just around the corner, and I always look forward to it. The trees all bloom, and everything in my neighbourhood smells like cherry blossoms. The world almost has a green tint to it, and everything just feels hopeful. And while I love dressing for colder seasons, spring is, has been, and always will be my favourite season.
Anyway, have some clothes and stuff.

Yep, bonus face shot. But don't worry, it's all for the sunglasses. |

So am I the only one who gets super excited for spring every year? It's cool if I am.

A Crown of Daisies
So today, I decided to get all kinds of crafty. I've been wanting a flower crown for a while, mostly because it would enable me to feel like I'm frolicking through meadows or something, even when I am very clearly not. I figured I would make something a little easier to pull off than the Ren-Faire-style daisy crown I already have.

Just chillin' with a barbarian. This is from two years ago. |
So instead of the wreath, I used a headband. The headband was originally going to be covered (well, not covered) in big spikes, but since I couldn't find any, I decided that flowers should suffice.
Let the floral festivities commence! But first, let's get you all inspired and stuff.

Time to celebrate!
My best friend officially turned twenty on the 16th, and while I already got her a present, we didn't get the chance to celebrate. Today was her awesome birthday adventure. There was food (so much!), and a Friends of the Library sale, and wandering, and cupcakes with sparklers, and singing. I'd call it a success.
I don't even know how long we've been best friends for. Six years? I don't know. It's all good.
Real quick OOTD, too. We found a blue wall with some Astroturf, so I figured that that was as good a place as any for a picture.

I have legs!
Well, yes, I clearly have legs, as you've seen in my Fa(t)shion February posts on my personal blog, but last Saturday, the weather was so lovely that I left them bare. Even though they're pale whatnot. Oh, well.
Tee-shirt: Wal-Mart | Sunglasses: Tilly's | Gold bangle: Claire's | Orange bracelet: gift from a friend | Shorts: Torrid for ten dollars! Yeah! | Bag: Mulberry for Target | Adorable denim peep-toes you can't see: Payless
Ignore the messy room and know that it's not that messy anymore. Just thought you ought to know that.
Here's hoping we get more lovely springtime weather soon! Even though it's going to rain tomorrow.
Sigh.

Egg-Laying Bunnies?
Happy Easter!
You may or may not care to know this, but I love to celebrate things. I don't care how relevant it is to me, I'm just an enthusiastic person that just so happens to be too lazy to show that too often.
Anyway.
To show my enthusiasm, I made cupcakes.
My fabulously mediocre Peeps cupcakes!
It's actually fantastically simple: Funfetti cake mix and Funfetti frosting. It's whipped vanilla, I think. Add some sprinkles (you know, the sprinkles that come with the frosting, how much effort is expected here?), put a Peep on top, and enjoy!
My mom and brother think I was "chintzy with the frosting", but I thought they turned out wonderfully. They just can't appreciate anything.
Here's hoping that you had the chance to open all your windows and enjoy some flawless spring weather!
