Pretty Simple

It's Marvelous Monday again, guys! It's also my first at the university, so that's pretty rad as well. Though I was a bit too cowardly to go beyond the hallway; I did have to tell my roommate was going on, vaguely. So there's that. Eventually, I'll venture onto the beautiful campus.
Maybe.
Let's hope.
Anyway, today I just had a couple of classes, which was pretty nice. I like my chemistry teacher well enough, but my history teacher is fantastic! I'm going to like this semester, I think.
This week's theme: minimalism!
To me, minimalism is just simplicity. Clean lines, simple colour palettes, very few accessories, stuff like that. I went for a monochromatic outfit with a pop of colour (purple lipstick you can barely see in the photo, just how I like it), and a splash of weird.
What better way to introduce myself to strangers than in  my eye shoes? Now all I'm missing is my heart sweater...

Now, let's go see how the others did simplicity!

Punk Rawk

You know how I like clothing challenges, right? Well, here's a new weekly one that I think I'm gonna love: Marvelous Monday! This is the third installment of it, but it's my first, and I'm excited.
This challenge is between myself and four amazing fatshion bloggers. Their links will be down below, and you really ought to check them out.
The philosophy of the challenge is this: Monday is nobody's favourite day of the week, but maybe its terrible reputation is a little undeserved. We're on a mission to make ours (and hopefully yours) a little less awful by dressing marvelously!
This week's theme: spikes and studs.
I like both of those things. Because of that, I put on my Tough Guy jacket, some purple lipstick, and funny faces. I've also realised that I really like putting my bangs in the middle like that. It makes me feel like a Teddy Boy, or Eddie Munster.
Anyway.
Jacket, boots: Forever 21 | Tee: Lane Bryant | Skirt: made by my mom | Stockings: Torrid | Necklace: DIY | Bracelet: vintage
Nails: "Sparkle Aplenty" by Revlon | Lipstick: "Violet Frenzy," also by Revlon. I like Revlon.

An added bonus:
Finally, be sure to check out the others!
(We're still open to adding new participants, so get in touch with someone if you're interested!)

Ventinove

I went driving today, which was only mildly terrifying, thankyouverymuch.
So, real quick: here's what I wore.
30x30 Items:
Tee: Lane Bryant | Skirt: ASOS Curve
Other stuff:
Shoes, jacket: Forever 21 | All jewelry: Charming Charlie | Tights: WalMart | Sunglasses: Tilly's | Bag: MulberryxTarget
Now, I've got three days worth of music tasks to catch you up on. Not sorry.
A song I used to love but now hate: "Some Nights" by fun. I love the song, but I just really hate that Autotune chunk in the middle.
A song I often hear on the radio: I don't know, uh, something by One Direction? I don't listen to radio much, or whatever. I'm lame.
And finally, a song I wish I heard on the radio: "Santa Ana Winds" by Cold War Kids. Solely for the fact that I love them, okay?

Cinque

So I got up this morning, got my lunch and breakfast together, got ready, and then looked at my email. Turned out I didn't have to go to class.
I wore this outfit for twenty minutes then promptly went back to bed. I love discoveries like that. They make academia a much lovelier place.
30x30 Pieces:
Tee: Lane Bryant | Skirt: ASOS Curve
Other stuff:
Tights: WalMart | Flats: Payless

PS: I get to get all fancified tomorrow evening, and hopefully, I'll have more than just outfit pictures. But I will have those, at the bare minimum. I love December.

B.F.G.

Also known as the big, friendly giant.
Also known as me in heels.

Skirt: Fashion Bug | Tee: Fashion Bug | Babushka necklace: Forever 21 | Heels: Forever 21
Since I was determined to wear these fabulous shoes to school today, I went for an obscenely simple outfit. All black, of course. I love that the print reminds me (vaguely) of that one Miu Miu collection, the one that still haunts my dreams. You know the one—the one with the daisy, cat, and sea gull prints.
Anyway, I realized that this was not the day to wear them for the first time. I need to be able to handle them a bit better if I'm going to be hustling to catch public transit. I ended up wearing flip-flops instead. But don't worry, heels, I'm coming for you.

Twenty-Six

I count today as successful. I made sun tea (which will be joining forces with some lemonade tomorrow and becoming an Arnold Palmer), spent a great deal of time at the pool, and got my mom into Doctor Who. I'm a nerd, but I'm a devoted nerd. We watched the first two episodes, and the entire time, I'm thinking, I love Rose! I love the Doctor! I love Mickey! I love Jax! Suffice it to say that I love that show, and if you've never seen it, then change that. Seriously. It's streaming on Netflix and it's on BBC and there is nothing stopping you, guys.

My mom always comments on my hair. See, it likes to do its own thing when it gets wet and I let it air dry. In these pictures, my hair is (still) wet from the pool and while you can't see it, it's quite curly right now. Sometimes it's pin-straight, sometimes I get perfect ringlets. Do you know what I do with it? Wash it, condition it, wring out the extra water on the ends, sleep on it. It does what it wants, and honestly, I'm totally cool with that.
Also, side note, expect something really awesome on Sunday. And, okay, awesome isn't quite the best word to describe it, but it's the vaguest, and I want to see if anyone can guess what's going to happen!

Twenty-Four

Today was lovely, so I spent the majority of it outside. Most of that was spent in a pool, which is the answer to every single thing. It was glorious.
My brother finished working on this pocket bike he bought from a friend (I think), and took it on its inaugural drive, complete with my nieces and nephews going crazy over it. That, of course, was hilarious. You'll see why.

To be fair, I think everyone on a pocket bike looks funny.
Everyone.

I'm home!

I already miss Carpinteria. I fully intend to live there one day. That place is fantastic.
So today, you get to get caught up on my 30x30 adventures, and some travel adventures! Yeah!
Casey's parents drove us up on Sunday and stayed for the afternoon. We had good food at Tony's (they have the best ranch dressing in the history of the stuff, and pretty good fish & chips), checked out the Whimsy store on 7th Street, and took pictures of the hotel. The walls were orange and everything was all modern and I really like hotels, guys. Even if it was a Motel 6.
Monday: we walked to IHOP, hiked through a forest (using a bike path, so it wasn't a hike. At all. I don't care), and found a park. I also ended up buying lipstick and nail polish. That is why people don't leave me alone! My mom drove up around two and then we chilled at the hotel for a long while. That was our beach day. We swam out pretty far and sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" and got hypothermia. That's always fun. We had the Spot for dinner (home of some stupendous burgers, you know), and Casey and I played with snails for a while. They even had names!
Tuesday: We went to the Worker Bee Cafe for a really awesome breakfast, checked out some antique stores (they have good ones there), and got Starbucks on Linden. I got Warheads and rock candy from Robitaille's, to sate my sweet tooth. I got sixteen books (for sixteen bucks! I love you, Friends of the Library!) and even got to spend a bit of time thrifting. That wasn't particularly fruitful, but I know that store exists. After spending some time back at the hotel (mostly on the internet. Livin' the big life), we went back to the beach to look for rocks and shells. Dinner that night was Mexican at Rudy's, and awesome.
Wednesday: breakfast burritos at The Spot, and coming home. It was all very, very sad. Also, this was today. Surprise! (it was for me.)
Now: Pictures!

Three

It's hot today, which means I've spent all of it inside, wishing that we had Otter Pops and reading. I should've gone swimming.
