Shield Your Eyes

You guys know I like firmoo.com, right? I mean, you can get cool sunglasses for a pretty good price, and that's awesome. Of course, you can also get regular glasses, but we're not talking about that, so ignore that fact (for now).
Well, these lovely folks have contacted me, and I'm pleased that my first giveaway will be with them. Cause, seriously, I love sunglasses. A lot. And I'm sure you do too!
They're offering up six $20 vouchers, which will then be turned into sunglasses to put on your face. But, if over fifty people compete in this thing, then one additional winner will be given a free pair, shipping included.
Did I mention that you can get the lenses tinted on any frames, too? Cause you can. I did that, and you can copy me to your heart's content.
And, if you have prescription glasses, you can turn them into prescription sunglasses. So you can see all the time, even in the sun (and they offer photocromic lenses, which even I think is really cool).
All you have to do to win is visit the site and post a comment here, telling me which pair you'd love to own. It's as easy as that. It would be nice if you gave me your email address, too, so you can be contacted if you win. Just saying.
This contest is open very nearly worldwide (if your country is listed here, then you're good), and the winners will be announced on May 20th!
Till then, here are some other people wearing firmoo sunglasses.

Red and White and Black All Over

I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by Firmoo.com, and they offered to send me a pair of glasses. The trouble is, I actually have really good eyesight. While that isn't ordinarily troubling, it is when a glasses company offers you a free pair of glasses. Then, of course, I found out that they can tint lenses for any frames, and that the lenses don't even have to be special. Et viola, sunglasses.

Guys, I really, really love sunglasses.
Anyway, even though I got sunglasses, they do, in fact, offer glasses for people who actually require them. The best part: they're all really, really cute. There are colours and prints and good things all over the site, and I like all of that.
While I put in my order, there was a bit of trouble (entirely my doing, because half the time I don't pay enough attention to things), and they solved the problem instantly and politely, probably not even making fun of me in their heads. Since I got the lenses tinted, they took about a week and a half, and they were everything I could have hoped for. They came with a hard case, a soft case, a cloth, and a little repair kit in case I lose an arm (a glasses arm, not a real arm. I'd need a doctor for that, not tiny screws).
I've been wearing them nonstop because they're really cute, and they're just dark enough that the sun and I don't hate each other. Plus the arms are different colours, which is a detail that I really like.
And here's something really cool: they have this thing called the First Pair Free program. Basically, that means that your first pair is free with shipping. Like, you can get glasses for seven dollars. How awesome is that?
I'll tell you how awesome.
Very awesome.
Ignore the sunburn, but nothing else.

Round and Round

So, today I did a lot of things. Namely, I got dressed, took way too many pictures of my face and my new favourite sunglasses, played favourites with my jackets, and drove. In traffic. A lot.
Yeah.

Jacket, top: Forever 21 | Skirt: Fashion Bug | Tights: WalMart | Boots: Forever | Sunglasses: Image
And, you know, music task of the day: a song I want at my funeral. I'm actually really glad that I wrote this up after driving; otherwise, it would feel like tempting fate. Even if I did a pretty good job, thankyouverymuch.
The song is "The Lark Ascending," by Ralph Vaughan Williams. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, so...yep.
Also, a quick note. Next month will be the wonderful Fatshion February, and it will officially be my third. I'll be posting here, and my tumblr, so you can't miss me wearing clothes in February. Let me know if you'll be joining me! It won't serve much purpose, but I like knowing.

Summer Daze

I'll start off with tonight's outfit, because that's how I roll. I just wore this for Chinese with Casey and my mom. Also, buying more nail polish and lipstick, neither of which I lack. Oh, well, it was cheap.
Top: Ralph Lauren/given by my mom | Skirt: Fashion Bug | Bag: Ross | Shoes: Payless

Now, to cover two days, where we didn't do much but took a lot of pictures regardless.

Eight and a Mall Trip

I spent more money than I should have, on things I don't need.
Oh, and food.
Although, really, who says that I don't desperately need a pair of red heart sunglasses, or a straw bag with a flamingo on it? I think it's very, very necessary.

Dress: Forever 21 | Bag: Ross | Necklace: Forever 21 | Shoes: Payless (and dusty from a walk in the desert).
This dress is my absolute favourite. I like the collar and the print, and I love the cutouts in the back. I live for little details like that. Well, little details and sunglasses.

Leopard Lady

Let's start this post off with an outfit.

Shirt: Sure Clothing | Necklace: vintage | Bangles: Forever 21 | Skirt: Forever 21 | Orange bracelet: Casey | Shoes: Payless | Sunglasses: Tilly's
Also: I clearly have a thing for Wet 'n' Wild makeup, since both my lipstick and my eyeliner are from them, not that you can see my eyeliner. It's purple. But you know, I do love their lipstick. I have, like, five different shades.
Anyway.
You'll notice that my room is still messy. I'll probably be that way till next Friday. I've been pretty busy lately, studying, doing homework, writing, taking buses and trains everywhere, and watching Doctor Who. This semester can't end soon enough.
So next month will see a couple of awesome things. First and foremost: Casey and I are going to Carpinteria for a few days, and my level of joy is beyond containing. Second: I'm joining in the 30x30 Remix. Go check out DIY Fatshion and Animated Cardigan for more information. It's pretty simple, though. You pick thirty items of clothing and remix them every day of the month. It's an awesome way to look at your clothes more creatively. I know I fall into that rut where I wear the same outfits every week. Well, with some variation. Anyway, I'm going to be posting daily, or as close as I can get to it. It'll be like Fa(t)shion February, except in June, and more closet-oriented.
Welp, that's it. I'm off to figure out my thirty items, and watch the rest of season four. Enjoy your Friday! Oh, and let me know in the comments if you're planning on participating in 30x30, too!

Flat Out Run

Let me tell you, today's outfit was not made for running. Skirts just laugh at you while you pound pavement, and you know that they are intentionally making you life suck.
Luckily, some lovely strangers held the bus for me.
Anyway, I just thought I should share my outfit today, which was weirdly...professional? I don't know, I wore a blazer.

Blouse: thrifted | Skirt: Fashion Bug | Blazer: Forever 21 | Necklace: Fashion Bug | Bangles: Forever 21 | Orange bracelet: Casey | Ring: vintage or something | Shoes: vintage, and six bucks, and obnoxiously comfortable | Sunglasses: Tilly's
I am disappointed in myself for not getting a better shot of these sunglasses, but rest assured, they are wonderful. Cat-eyes with a little rhinestone bow on one corner. I really ought to take a picture of my sunglasses collection one of these days, even though it's still pretty small. Whatever, I still love them.
