Seidici

I completely forgot to take pictures of my outfit on Wednesday. Oops. Hopefully, this will suffice.
I went to Casey's on Wednesday. We exchanged gifts (the necklace she got me is too fantastic), watched Fellowship of the Ring, and gorged ourselves on sweets. All in all, the makings of an excellent day.
And, for the record, I think she's over the moon about my sudden decision to get into Lord of the Rings. Anything to make the people in my life happy with my life choices.
30x30 Items:
Dress: mom
Other stuff:
Bag: Nine West | Shoes: Payless
I'm not sure if I've shown you guys the back of this dress. I designed it, and my mom sewed it, complete with fantastic triangle cutout.
I swear, I wear this more often than anyone ever should. It's absurdly comfortable and somehow makes me look like I'm going to a tea party. I like all of that, I really do. Also, the cutout.

Br00tal00 (Best Not to Ask)

Yesterday was a long one, but definitely a good one.
Erika and I spent the first half of the day on the Boulevard, mostly perusing antique shops, getting haircuts (well, okay, she's the only one who got a haircut. I'm waiting), seeing if anyone was hiring (this one was just me), and eating Chinese food. These are the kinds of days we enjoy. The weather was much warmer than I would have liked, since it's, you know, November, but I made do by wearing my favorite dress out into the world.
But seriously, weather. Get your act together. Sheesh.
After spending a bit of time at her house (eating cheesecake, watching the Sex and the City movie (what?), and getting sort of fancified), we went to her boyfriend's house for a party. Apparently I do that now. Although, what I call a party was little more than a group of us sitting around in the den eating ceviche, taking quick jaunts to the grocery store to pick up more meat, returning to the den for discussions on The Avengers and Doctor Who, and watching Youtube videos. I choose to call this a party, though, even if a member of our group took a nap. Goes to show how she felt about our company.

So good! I feel like we might become regulars. Or something. I
dunno.

Really wish I'd thought to actually, you know, open this. It might
either be uproariously funny or drier than the Sahara.
Because I'm who I am, I neither got pictures of the party, nor pictures of my outfit. Luckily for all of us, one of those mistakes was easy to fix and those pictures were easy to recreate. I apologize now for the less-than-stellar quality, and the fact that my room is still  a mess. Or, as I like to think of it, a niece-induced maelstrom.

Challenging

Okay, so, I think we all know that I love a good clothing-related challeng. Or a mediocre one. Trust that this one falls in the first category.
Enter: The Ways to Wear Challenge! If you want more information, go click the link and learn.
This month's challenge is a little black dress!
I have three entirely black dresses, one with polka-dots, and one that's half-black-half-grey. Out of these many dresses, only one really works under the LBD umbrella. Which, honestly, isn't that big an inconvenience for me. I mean, none of my adventures really call for one, but it's all good.
This dress counts as LBD and, well, black dress. Visual proof:
Dress: Forever 21 | Tights: Hue | Boots: Forever
The above is how I dressed to face the melee that is grocery shopping on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We got our turkey and some pre-made pies (disappointingly enough) and hightailed it out of there before we could be swallowed alive by the crowd. Thank everything we don't have to go, say, Wednesday night. I'm not one for massive shopping crowds. Probably the main reason behind my absolute refusal to go do Black Friday sales.
Okay, it's really because I am not getting up at three in the morning or whatever for that. Not. Worth. It.
Anyway.
This is how I styled the above dress for the challenge, and whatever adventures might call for an LBD, as opposed to Simple Black Dress.
Dress, bag, boots: Forever 21 |  Stockings: Torrid
Photobomber: niece

Bracelet and ring: vintage | Necklace: Fashion Bug

Among my new favorite boots. So good it hurts.

So that, good readers, is my challenge look. Huzzuh! Now, if you have plans to do this challenge as well, you have till tomorrow to think up/photograph/submit something excellent. Hop to it!

Burdened With Glorious Purses

Apparently, I have a much fuller social life than we all thought possible.
I know, it's crazy.
I spent the afternoon at Erika's, doing homework, painting our nails, generally killing time. Eventually, though, after taking forever to get ready (not me, I was like lightning), we went to a party. It was her boyfriend's aunt's birthday, I think, but our friends were there, so I wouldn't be left feeling like a weird kid. Although I usually do that anyway. We might have been overdressed, but that's just how I live my life.
We spent a huge majority of the party just hanging out in the front yard, speaking in German/Italian, discussing Nutella cheesecake recipes, and listening to the boys play. Also, for some reason, Edgar brought a xylophone with him, and I spent a great deal of time struggling to play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Happy Birthday." I succeeded, though.
The rest of the night was spent eating jell-o cake (which is incredibly weird) and watching funny videos on YouTube. That's the way to party.

Two New Dresses

I won't lie, I got these a couple of weeks ago. I'm only just now getting around to showing them to you, though. I have yet to wear them, but that'll change soon.
They're both 22/2x from eShakti, smocked in the back, and absurdly comfortable. Especially the bow-tie one.

Can we just talk about how excellent this print is? This dress is covered in bow-ties. Not bow, but bow-ties. Nothing is cooler than this dress.
The hem detail of the blue dress. It's still a bit wrinkled from shipping, but it's 100% cotton, so it is isn't a big deal. And I really wish these pictures could do the color justice.
This dress fits fantastically. I think there's a bit of boning in the bodice, too, actually. It's unlined and completely cotton and just waiting to be worn.
 Guys, it has pockets.
This dress might just be the most comfortable thing I own. It's lined, which is good, considering the light, sheer material it's made out of. It also has these little tab things in the shoulders for your bra straps. Really, why don't all sleeveless dresses have that?
Alas, no pockets.
The bodice is a little gape-y, unfortunately. It doesn't look that bad, but when I sit, it really shows more than I'd like it to. Nothing a few stitches can't fix, though. Aside from that, this dress is perfect.
I spent my own money on these. I think I spent about forty altogether. The blue one was on sale, plus I used a code to get an additional 10% off. Yeah, buddy. The second one was dirt cheap because I used a $20 gift code. You guys, eShakti gives you a $20 gift code after your first purchase. Could they be any more perfect? I think not!
I just felt like sharing my opinions on these dresses, because why not? I live to help you guys with your shopping adventures, or something like that.

I Like Sales

I recently read about a sale going on at eShakti, and I've heard nothing but good stuff about them, so I've decided to buy a dress. Mild crisis, though: which one? I am flailing around in a sea of flawless! Pleats and pockets and perfection, oh, my!
If you've got an opinion on which one I should get, please give it to me! Either that, or let me rely on people who will probably tell me not to buy anything first. They both work, I suppose.
Blue

Bow

Corset

Pearl

Flower

Butterfly
This is what my life has come to, I swear.
EDIT: The blue dress won. Yeah, buddy. It ought to be here next week, and I'm a happy person now.

Thirty

Surprise! I'm done with 30x30, and I didn't even realise! What. This is what happens during the summer—I lose track of the days of the week. Oh, well. I need something new to do, then, clearly. So what would you guys like me to do in July? Don't leave that comment box empty!
Or do. It's your life.

More pictures of Charlie because, let's face it, he's adorable. Especially in that first picture. He's not quite so nervous, even if Angel Will. Not. Have it.
Oh, well!

Twenty

Oh, I'm a day behind! That is lame.
Meh.
Today is too hot to exist. Maybe I'll forgo my essay for a bit and go to the pool tomorrow. At least we have Otter Pops now!
Let's pretend the quality of this picture makes my room look
neater, okay?

Eleven

Today I've: put off writing an essay that's due in about five hours, finished Doctor Who, listened to the entire discography of Sleeping At Last, and painted my nails.
I'm not stalling.
I don't do that.
Ahem.

Eight and a Mall Trip

I spent more money than I should have, on things I don't need.
Oh, and food.
Although, really, who says that I don't desperately need a pair of red heart sunglasses, or a straw bag with a flamingo on it? I think it's very, very necessary.

Dress: Forever 21 | Bag: Ross | Necklace: Forever 21 | Shoes: Payless (and dusty from a walk in the desert).
This dress is my absolute favourite. I like the collar and the print, and I love the cutouts in the back. I live for little details like that. Well, little details and sunglasses.

Five

Once again, it's a boring day. It's ridiculously windy outside so swimming is out of the question. Oh, well.
But, hey, I've got cookies to bake tonight. That's something interesting!

Four

Boring, lazy, melty day today. I spent it in a laundromat, reading, and wishing the seventeenth would just hurry up and get here already.
I wear this dress so often it's ridiculous. I'm okay with that.

Two

Yesterday was spent swimming, and my hair thanked me for it, sort of. It's a horrible mess (sorry, guys), but I like the way it looks (even sorrier, guys). Summer makes my hair happy.
Or something like that.
Today was spent watching sitcoms and eating ice cream with Casey. It was also spent contemplating naptime and wanting Chinese food. I'm livin' large this summer.

Dress: Forever 21| Necklace: thrifted, and broken. Meh. | Bracelets: Forever 21 | Ring: vintage-ish | Sandals: Marshall's
My face might vaguely suggest looking put-together, but let's let my hair put that idea to rest. I like it, though, okay? Any excuse to be lazy. Oh, and my lipstick is "Siren" by Revlon. I love orange lipstick, so much.
So that's it for today. Hopefully I'll get some Chinese food tonight. All I know for sure is that I'm spending the rest of the day writing, watching Doctor Who, and listening to so much Cold War Kids.
