What's In Your Purse?

So I should be better at announcing when I'm going on hiatus, but as it happens, I'm really bad at that. Sorry! It's been a long semester, and I still have about a week till I'm done. Soon, though!
I mean, it's the long semester bit, and also a crisis of confidence, but I'm hoping for a good summer. And I have adventures and stuff to keep the world caught up on, because let's be real: this is more of a personal blog than anything, especially while I'm not posting outfit pictures.
Anyway, I was contacted by someone at Credit Card Insider about this campaign they're doing called, as the post has already hinted: What's In Your Purse? And since I'm the furthest thing from a financial mogul, or an anything mogul, I'm just gonna talk about some of the nonsense I keep with me all the time.
So, here's all the stuff I keep with me everywhere I go, save a pair of sunglasses. Those were still on my head when I took the picture. They're super cute, too.

  • I'm never without a notebook, and this is the one I favor. As I'm sure we all know, I do a lot of writing, and this is my best way of keeping it organized and, you know, existent. Casey got this for me for Christmas a couple years ago.
  • A compact is a great thing to have, especially on days where I actually do The Makeup Thing. This one is from Forever 21.
  • Pens are, of course, vital. This one's cool, cause it also has a touchscreen stylus on the top. My mom get a trillion of them for work, and by extension, so do I.
  • Keys are also necessary, for obvious reasons.
  • And my wallet, which I got for maybe five bucks at Ross. It's one of the brightest things I own, and lots of people like to joke about how there's no way I'd be able to lose it. They would be right.
  • Lipstick/chapstick/so on/so forth of the day. Today, it's Maybelline's Baby Lips in Cherry Me.
  • And my cell phone, also for obvious reasons.

Oh, and this is the purse I've been using most often! It's from Target, and my mom got it for me for Christmas this last year. It has more pockets than I expected, and more room than logically makes sense.
Okay, okay, back to studying! I have four finals next week, and then I'm free! And I say this a lot, but I do plan on being a lot more present this summer! I haven't been reading blogs or posting or even taking many pictures, and I really, really miss it. Soon!
See you then!

Beware the Ice Cream Man

Today, we did a lot of walking. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we ran some errands before going to lunch, and then going to the Boulevard. I had some awesome ceviche.
Our wanderings weren't too exciting, but they did eventually lead to a wicked sunburn. It's only March and I'm already scorched.
I did end up buying two books from the Friends of the Library, and for $1.50 altogether. I'd call that a victory, even if my skin is calling the day a defeat.
What's in my bag? That would be: keys, sunglasses, ancient WalMart wallet, camera case, The Meaning of Night by Michael Cox, Forever 21 compact, notebook, pen, phone, and Baby Lips (not pictured, for whatever odd reason).
Books of the day!

Hipster.

Thanks, Casey.

Arnold Palmers on the Secret Menu

I spent today with Erika. And yesterday. And Monday. It's actually been a lot of fun, though, so don't count on me getting bored. We have some adventures planned for next week, too, so there's that to look forward to.
Today, we went to the mall, and oh dear everything, I should not have gone to the mall. I bought two dresses nothing of import from eShakti yesterday, and then quite a bit of stuff today. I got a great outfit that I can't wait to debut, though, some excellent heels, and a couple pairs of sunglasses. Oh, and two pairs of thigh-highs! I'm so excited because now I don't have to deal with tights all the time and one pair is black lurex, and that's reason enough to be thrilled, don't you think?
Also, for fun, I thought do do a What's In My Bag post. It's fun for me, at least. I don't even know.
What's in my bag at any given moment: camera (and case), learner's permit, wallet (from Avenue, years ago), notebook and pencil, house key, mirror, cell phone, lip balm (this one is huckleberry), and sunglasses (Claire's).
The wear is starting to show on my favourite bag.

I Made a MOOSE-stake!

99.999% of Thursdays belong to Casey and the Boulevard. We wander around, we enjoy the farmer's market, and we make friends with the vendors. Today, it was a little too chilly to do much wandering, so we just went down to AmPm and got snacks and cocoa. Casey, of course, didn't need the extra snacks. She carries candy with her everywhere.
She's wearing vintage Docs, a thrifted leather jacket, and
corduroy jeans that I picked out at a going-out-of-business
sale. Yeah.
We later played the What's-In-My-Bag game. Since I came from school, I had a ridiculous amount of, you know, things.
The bag is O'Niell, and I got it from Ross. I think. The purplish makeup/pencil bag is from Avon from many, many years ago. My I Love Lucy wallet is from Wal-Mart, also from many years ago. There is my math notebook, my sociology notebook, and my current read (The Return of the Native), in addition to my planner, water bottle, and many schedules. Also, I have a Zune. Yup. That other stuff in the corner is hers.
After chilling in this little alcove and playing the above game and eating our food, we went into one of our favourite antique shops to look around. They have a few different rooms filled with cool stuff, and a little nook with hats and jewelry. I ended up getting two rings for less than five bucks! I'm excited about those.
I'm pretty sure this book is called Morris the Moose. And, if you can't see it, that last line is "I made a MOOSEstake!" The punny is just too much.
I just liked the bin full of toy cars.
I would have posted my outfit, but alas, I was lazy this morning and it was supremely boring.
Anyway, how was your day? Hopefully it wasn't full of rain and wind and general coldness.
