Will You Bring Food?

Yesterday was fun, even if it was spent in a partial haze from exhaustion. Sometimes, it's just impossible to get your brain to slow down, especially when you quite distinctly have to get up in two and a half hours. So I ended up sleeping in and meeting Casey at the Bolevard in the afternoon. Bolstered with coffee, we wandered around as usual and did our thing.
We spent a good long while hanging out with a friend before heading to the Underground Lounge. Casey was excited cause she's an official grown-up; I was excited cause I was allowed in at all and was promised snacks. I've since discovered that I actually really like fried pickles.
That's really the full extent of my interesting day. I came home, ate dinner, and crashed much earlier than usual.
On a barely related note, I've brought my purple dress back into circulation. That's the best sign that the weather has been lovely. Well, here, at least.
Thank you, Casey.

Four-in-the-morning manicures are a thing, right?

The lounge also doubles as a cosmic bowling alley.

My Pretties

Just a couple of minutes ago, I went and bought my first pair of jeans in years. I need some adventure gear, and I finally found cool jeans that I like that look good on me. I almost bought them (different print, same style) a few months ago, but they were way too expensive, even on clearance.
Guess who got these bad boys for thirty bucks, including shipping?
Go on, guess.
I haven't been this excited since I ordered a skirt with pom-poms on it.
But seriously, I love this fit. As someone who loves her ankles way too much, they're stinking perfect and now they're mine!
They're almost too pretty to subject to adventures.
Almost.
(Also, Torrid's having a major sale on clearance, so pretend you're me and go buy some stuff. They don't know I'm encouraging you, but I promise they'd be cool with it.)

Dust Bowl

Marvelous Monday is here!
If you're not sure what that is, then pay a visit right here and educate yourself, yo.
This week's theme: maxi skirts or dresses!
You know how I totally play favourites with items of clothing? Today was no exception. I love this skirt.  I paired it with boots and a jacket, effectively covering most of my body and keeping me safe from this ridiculous dust storm my town's been caught in. It's absurdly windy, and everything smells like dirt, and you can barely see for all the dust outside. It's like a brown fog, but more...particulate.
My mom and I braved the Dust Bowl-like outside world to get groceries. In the brief minutes between house and car, it already felt like I was coated in the stuff.
Not pleasant.
Hopefully, the others have had nicer weather.

Charlie likes to roll all over the floor to get my attention.
Needy.
Just kidding, I love her.

And now you should go pay a visit to the others, because I'm sure you're as curious about how they styled their maxi things as I am.

Ventidue

Surprise! I wore things that aren't pajamas today! We went to WalMart for cat food and dessert, and I got to break in my new jacket. Yep, thank everything for Christmas money.
Also, I've gotten Casey into Cabin Pressure. This feels good, guys. Mostly because there's a new episode tomorrow. Hooray for Timbuktu!

Diciotto

My NYE plans were foiled, but never fear, vegetable noodle soup and closet reorganization is here.
I am a real wild child.
(It helps that I've got a cold and anything actually wild would probably give me pneumonia.)
Keep in mind that the rest of my night will likely involve egg rolls, movies, and writing. It's all good.

Dieci

Today included naps (in the multiple, blissfully enough), attempting to draw my nephew (who refused to sit still, but I did it, more or less), and a trip to WalMart.
I love my break already.

This is the collective doodle my art group did yesterday. If you want to see anything in detail, let me know and I'll post pictures of those specific things. Because, guys, this thing is really cool.

Otto

Today, I turned in my art portfolio and took my final for Italian.
Guys, I got an A in Italian. I'm pretty thrilled.
Anyway, this was an outfit chosen with one of my art friends in mind. See, every time she sees my red shoes and red tights (separately), she always tells me that I ought to pair them together. So I made it a thing (complete with my red heart sunglasses) and made her day.
Finally, cat.

On a note I nearly forgot, this outfit makes me feel like I'm in high school again. It's mostly the top and hairstyle, but I feel like they both need a bit of a resurrection. With some of my newer, older, wiser (ha!) tricks. Because I have those. Apparently.

Due

Today involved: sleeping in blissfully late, spending the afternoon at Erika's, going to WalMart (again), and forgetting to take pictures out in the world. Whoops. Looks like a dusty lens (eep!) and android eyes will have to do.

Just Kidding, There's Ghosts

No, seriously, I need to stop going to the mall before everyone there knows me by name.
On a side note, I just really love gyros right now, but I'm only in it for the tzatziki.
Casey's uncomfortably besotted with her mannequin boyfriend.

I can't take mine seriously. Sorry.
Jacket and blouse: Forever 21 | Skirt: mom | Bag: Charlotte Russe

Sorry about the crazy eyes. I can't take normal pictures.

We each got makeup sets, in our newly decided respective prints.
Ten points if you guess whose is
whose.
All from Forever 21.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to read a book by Cousteau, and that is terrifically interesting.

Art, Culture, Car Crooners

I went to the Getty today for my drawing class. I have a really good group in that class, so some of us got together and carpooled there.
Let me make a long story very short: there was lots (lots) of singing in the car. We spent an hour in the cafe talking about Doctor Who (me) and My Little Pony (J and K) before we realized that we really had to see the exhibits specified by our art teacher. We looked at said exhibits. I fell desperately in love with a painting whose name I won't ever remember. I came within an inch of a Van Gogh, and probably died of happiness. I saw pages of a book written around 800 BCE. I took the train home and finished the single most depressing book I have ever read.
It's okay, though, because I heard an awesome cover of the Pokemon theme song.
Anyway, I'm off to drown myself in tea and sleep in the futile hopes that I'll stave this cold off. Ugh. I hope your night is/will be/has been better!
Lunch so expensive it demanded a photo.

Me and some strangers I hopped in a car with.
Just kidding.

Hi, Cap, You're Cute When You Sleep.

Last night, I went on an adventure with Erika. By adventure, I mean we walked around the Boulevard and smelled stuff, went to dinner at Farmer Boys, and wasted time in Target. Target, where the Halloween stuff is out already.
Right, well, we couldn't help ourselves.
This is how I spend my life: acting like a fool in the Halloween section in Target with my friends. Also, accidentally buying new books, which I really shouldn't do. I already have a ton to get through. Le sigh.
Best Pirate Ever?

I became Captain America. Or something.

I also became a gentleman.

She doesn't look very angry to be an angry bird.

I am a pretty, pretty princess!

And now: Italian homework.
Livin' the life over here.

You Mean from Hong to Kong?

I was basically forced to draw an apple today. I didn't finish.
Honestly, that's the most exciting part of my day. I wore colourful clothes, froze in my Italian class, and came home. But the important part is that I liked my outfit, right? Right?

Tee: Torrid | Skirt: ASOS Curve | Cuff: vintage | (broken, sadly) Necklace: thrifted | Shoes: Payless
Also of relevance: WILD HAIR. I mean, really. I just want my bangs to grow out already! Unless I decide to cut them again. Really, it could go either way.

Yesterday's Makeup, Today's Sparkles

Let's start with yesterday's look, since I forgot it yesterday. Whoops.

Right.
Today, I have an outfit, too. Hooray! I finally broke out my black lurex stockings, and have since decided that I need more black glittery things like that.

Dress: Forever 21 | Stockings: Torrid | Shoes: Vans | Bracelet: vintage | Watch: WalMart | Necklace: Forever 21 | Cat: mine
Also, pink. Yeah.
Finally, I (sadly) did not get into my biology class. Which sucks, because I love biology. Oh, well, at least I have art and Italian to soothe my soul, and archaeology to...watch videos in? I don't know.

Twenty-Four

Today was lovely, so I spent the majority of it outside. Most of that was spent in a pool, which is the answer to every single thing. It was glorious.
My brother finished working on this pocket bike he bought from a friend (I think), and took it on its inaugural drive, complete with my nieces and nephews going crazy over it. That, of course, was hilarious. You'll see why.

To be fair, I think everyone on a pocket bike looks funny.
Everyone.
