Lister Vindaloo

So, you know how I'm doing Marvelous Mondays with four other fantastic fatshion bloggers?
Guess what, guys.
It's Monday!
The philosophy of the challenge is this: Monday is nobody's favourite day of the week, but maybe its terrible reputation is a little undeserved. We're on a mission to make ours (and hopefully yours) a little less awful by dressing marvelously!
This week's theme: fictional characters.
I thought long and hard for this one, but when I realised who I wanted to channel, the rest came easy.
I've gotten really into Red Dwarf really quickly (which is annoying BECAUSE I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY HOLLY BECAME HILLY BUT WAS STILL CALLED HOLLY AND WHY DOES RIMMER KEEP CHANGING INTO THOSE DUMB UNIFORMS I QUIT EXcept I'm way too invested to say no now), and Lister is one of my favourite characters. Really, I love all four characters, but Kryten and Lister are the best.
Anyway, I figured that I could get a bit creative with my Lister-inspired look, and I think I did pretty well, actually!
Also, my Banana decided that this was the best possible time to wear a hat like me, and I have to agree with her.

Hat: from Warped Tour | Brooches (there's one on either side): vintage | Jacket: Forever 21 | Tee: thrifted | Dress, tights: WalMart | Boots: Forever | Warhol button: off a Loop bag
Now, I highly suggest paying a visit to the others to see who they're emulating. I don't know about you, but I'm obnoxiously excited.

  1. Nice outfit! I have no idea who the character is, though. But still, you look great, and I love the jacket!

    1. Thanks! And he's one of the main characters from the show Red Dwarf. It's this sarcastic/cheesy British sci-fi show from the 80s, and it's amazing.
I wear this jacket all the time, I love it so much!

  2. Heck yes, I've never heard a non-Brit talk about Red Dwarf! I freaking love that show, I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid. Its such a fun, wacky show and makes no sense.

Anyway, I love the look, the boots, cap and tee are very Lister. The jacket is fantastic too.

    1. One of my best friends got me into it a couple of weeks ago, after her boyfriend got HER into it. Not sure how he came across it, but I'm glad. I have one season left, though. I'm not sure what I'll watch next.
      And thank you!

  3. Great look. Yet another one I haven't heard of before. Have you been to the Warped Tour before? I've always wanted to go but never have-the story of my life when it comes to concerts.

    1. Thanks! I definitely recommend it if you like sci-fi. It's on Netflix!
And, yeah, I went in 2011 and got a third-degree sunburn, haha. It's a lot of fun, and I'd definitely recommend it!

  4. Oh man, we should be nerdy together. I've watched a few eps of Red Dwarf, but not enough to know a whole bunch-- but I can totally see the inspiration here! Great job! You look so cute! And your little helper is totally adorable as well.

    1. Casually living the thug life, haha. One of my best friends got me into it, and I'm at season eight. It's a bit disappointing, as there are nine seasons, haha.
And thanks! I've kind of fallen in love with the hat again, and I swear my niece doesn't need her ego stroked, fed, and watered. But she is cute. :)
