The red rock is incredibly beautiful (especially in the great, spire-y formations), the cactus is slightly terrifying (things you learn as a child: don't touch the cactus, as getting the spine taken out hurts as much as getting it into your finger in the first place), and I had a wonderful time. Thanks. :)
Thank you! I love it, too. Originally, I noticed that there was a sign on the handle that said "come on up!", but when you looked at the top of the stairs, there was this blockade and a sign that said "closed," which I found hilarious. But then I noticed the colour, and I love it too. Quite the story attached to those stairs, if I do say so myself. Haha.
I keep hearing that the southwest desert is different than any other desert for beauty, thanks for providing some evidence. You have an eye for beauty in more than just clothing.
I live in the Mojave desert, and it's kind of beautiful in a pastel way when you're far out enough/looking at it in the right light/leaving, it's incredibly drab and tan. The southwest desert (what I've seen) is green and red and prickly, and I do love it. And that's honestly one of my favourite compliments ever. And you've sparked an idea, actually...
Love all the red rock & cactuses, hope you had a great time. :)

DeleteBeautiful photographs!
ReplyDeleteCool shots! I love when stairs have color or designs on them - it's just so much more fun!
